We recently upgraded to Sametime 11.6 on a Domino Server running 12.0.2. Since the upgrade, everytime we log into Sametime in our Notes Client, we get the following challenge...
I always click "No". My Client Sametime Preferences are as follows...
I'm suspect that this issue is a result of the upgrade... if anyone knows how to address that challenge, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
Thx in advance
Paul
@Paul Ryan
First and foremost
with regards to your question:We recently upgraded to Sametime 11.6 on a Domino Server running 12.0.2
Sametime 11.6 is NOT supported on Domino 12.x server
Please see : HCL Sametime® 11.6 System Requirements
where it states:
Note: HCL Domino 12 is not supported at this time. HCL Sametime 11.6 requires HCL Domino 11.x.
HCL Sametime does not supported a partitioned HCL Domino server.
the error that you are seeing may be related to the version of Lotus Notes that you are running.
Earlier versions of the embedded client in Notes use to report that the client detected a change.
It was fixed in later versions.
review this article
Table of Client types that connect to a Sametime server
to identify what client is running on the version of notes that you are currently using.
My recommendation is to try the latest version of lotus Notes 12.02
But as stated above Sametime 11.6 is not support on Domino 12.02
Please let me know if this was helpful
Hi Paul,
The change detected popup message is because the version of Sametime client is installed with persistent chat disabled. Sametime 11.6 servers deploy with persistent chat enabled as a policy. On initial client startup, the server will push down the persistent chat enabled policy requiring a client restart to fully enable. Note: In later versions of Sametime client, persistent chat is enabled on install to avoid the change detection message needing a restart.
If the message continues, it suggests the server is failing to support persistent chat and the client is disabling it to ensure chat at a minimum is functional. The server will continue to push the policy to enable persistent chat which can cause the client to get into a loop of enabling/disabling persistent chat.
Please open a support case and we can assist in reviewing the server and client configuration.
Concerning Geographic Location, is there a separate issue needing review?
Thanks!
