We recently applied the fix of 6.5.3CF1 to our new iSeries to resolve an issue we had with a massive database causing problems when full texting.
This seems to have fixed our problem, however, on the existing Wintel environment, the FT index for this database is at 2500Mb.
On the iSeries, it builds and builds for ages, goes up to around 3500Mb, then on completion, both the database properties and the folder size on the iSeries reports that the FT size is only 900Mb.
Does anyone have any idea of why this may happen?

depending on the size of the database itself (# of docs, size of docs) ft indexes can be huge.
there are settings for the type of index for instance be sure that turn off indexing on attachments
why the idex would build to 3.5G but props show only 900M is not clear.
I know this doesn’t help much but just contributing

Thanks Jon, not getting much luck on this one. The FT Folder in Ops Nav/Green screen is 8.9Gb, however Notes shows it as 900Mb, and as I say it shows 2500Mb on Wintel!
It’s very strange!
