Is it possible to have the fulltext directories created on some other drive or they must be in the current database directory ?

I don’t know, but if it’s any help, you can have the database on a different drive by creating a text file called whatever.nsf in the server’s data directory, and putting the full pathname of the “real” database file in that text file.
