French accents problem in view columns when accessed via webmail ( Domino Web Access )

Hi,

A small problem when our users try to reach their mail via webmail (Domino Web Access):

The accents are replaced by invalid characters in the view columns of the views.

example:

Accès

becomes

AccC(s

As it seems to be good in the content of the document itself, could it be a bug in the iNotes template?

Or is it an invalid server parameter?

Code Page?

Character-set?

…

Thank you by advance for your help

Hello,

I experience time to time the same trouble. This can be overcome by changing the charset encoding manually from the navigator.

Not a nice solution but It works.

Regards.

hi

according to my experiences, UTF-8 is most of the times a good solution.

Hi Yannick(for the second time today as I already replied a few minutes ago to your reply to another of my posts.)

Unfortunately, I can’t make it work. Even if I change in the browser the encoding to unicode, it doesn’t work.

Maybe the ‘default font’ has to be changed to a unicode one.

(I already had to do this to be able to read chinese characters via the Lotus Notes client).

But I don’t know if such a setting exists for web access…

Meanwhile, I discovered that the error didn’t occur for a replica of my mailbox on another server.

Server settings for domino web engine seems altough be equal on both servers (encoding parameters) but maybe a different level of server (different fix pack) can cause this problem…

As it is not a ‘emergency problem’, I’ll check all the parameters when I’ll have a bit more time…

Thank you for your help,
