No! Pls stop this! This forum contains a lot of invaluable informatons. No matter if these infos are related to old versions, some customers still use these versions and some tips are still valid and useful for current versions .Please find another way to comply with GDPR (i.e. just remove personal informations like names)

Subject: GOOD-BYE FORUM

You have been a great resource of information and will be missed. Will download native copies. Good-bye to Stan, Julie, and to everyone I have met electronically here. THIS IS A GREAT RESOURCE!!

Subject: Please allow existing content to still be searched

As business partner we still have customer running on old version of Domino and often we need to find why a feature behave differently in older version or workaround for feature that is not yet implemented. As a example this week I visit a customer that use Notes Application on Domino R5. I need to find a workaround for Notes UI Workspace.Prompt(Open Database) however the R5 forum cannot be accessed.

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you tell me how large your local copy is? Wondering if I have the space.

You can fit them on a thumb drive

Here is the official IBM notes:IBM Developer

Here are my quick notes

If you have a Notes client, choose File, Open, IBM Notes Application

Type notes1.notes.net in for the server name (if not responding try notes2.notes.net)

Open the file/forum you want

Create a new copy, File, Application, New Copy

Subject: Resources\Native Notes Access

On the right under Resources\Native Notes Access, I found some instructions for creating local replicas.

Subject: FORUM REMOVAL NOTICE

Please keep these forums at least as a read-only resource. Many of us have spent a good portion of our lives evangelizing Notes/Domino and still continue to do so in spite of all the missteps by IBM.

There is accumulated wisdom in here that is no where else to be found.

You apparently missed this later entry: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/DateAllFlatweb/3c22a28cae40bec18525829800462696?OpenDocument

Subject: RE: FORUM REMOVAL NOTICE

Apparently so, I saw a link to this thread on LinkedIn and didn’t search for other topics on it.

Thanks Stan.

So, another useful resource that IBM has chosen to remove from us - and in the name of "European Union Global … blah, blah, blah. "

Pretty lame. I would have thought there would be some “smart” programmers around that place who could figure a way to keep this database available - at least as a read only reference.

There is a still fair number of us developers out here maintaining legacy systems and maybe still writing new apps - who find this database very useful. But what is that in IBM’s big scheme of things.

Did not seem right to let this happen and you (IBM) think it was no big deal. To at least one still out here, it is a very big deal.

Subject: Agreed (was: FORUM REMOVAL NOTICE)

I check 3 forums each and every day. Notes/Domino 6-7. Notes/Domino 8.5 and IBM Notes and Domino 9.0 Social Edition.

I find the developerWorks dW Answers “forum” difficult to use at best, and overall find that vehicle off-topic for the majority of the discussions that Notes/Domino users have.

Obviously, IBM is weighing the additional loss of revenue against some crayon mark on the wall, so I wish them luck.

It’s sad, really, Notes/Domino is still a great platform, but it seems that after these many years we’re finally losing out…

Subject: RE: Agreed (was: FORUM REMOVAL NOTICE)

Agreed +1have been work with Notes/Domino more 20 years~

sadly ++1

ibm losing customers ++++1

Subject: OMG - FORUM REMOVAL NOTICE

I maintain sites for web (Domino) customers exclusively and use this forum regularly for reference.

Learning new scripting languages, Domino languages becomes fuzzy, I come back here to quickly refresh on how to do things in Notes. This forum also has obscure tips that are invaluable.

Please let this stay as a resource!!!

Anyone know where the LN 4/5 forum is?
