I have a customer that is complaining that when she does a reply with history to an external recipient, and he does the same, each reply increases the font size of the message.
I’m unsure if they’re using outlook at the other end but I suspect this. Trials with my own external web based mail was unable to reproduce the problem.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem with certain external clients as well. We have seen this happen when receiving mail from users of both Outlook and Lotus Notes (from IBM actually). We are running a mixture of 6.0.3 and 6.5.1 servers with 6.5.x clients. The large fonts also show up using the web interface, so those MIME attributes are being stored in the mail file as best as I can tell so far.
We are running Trend’s ScanMail 2.6 SP1 product on our incoming SMTP mail servers.
Just a “me too” message. I’ve been unable to reproduce the problem on my own for testing, so I’m going to need to isolate it with a willing external customer that has this problem too.

I haven’t solved the problem properly yet but I’m looking into the config doc and the ‘MIME’ settings, Settings by Character set Groups.
The point size here for the Western and English settings are important. Changing these seems to modify the behaviour…regardless of which one is selected to use…I’m not going to say how as I haven’t fully tested it but I think changing the “HTML Size” to 10 is the answer. Are you able to test it and let us know how it goes?
