We had a user who had certain folders moved mysteriously into other folders. These folders are identified with grey folder icons. No luck with moving them back to correct locations; it just goes back the next day when we checked. Tried refreshing the design with server copy but to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks.
Subject: Folders moved mysteriously
Refreshing the design probably wouldn’t help, as a person’s folders aren’t in the mailfile template. Just the system folders are. A fixup might help. Otherwise:
Does this mailfile have another replica somewhere (local machine, another server, etc.) that could be pushing the design change (moved folders) back to this replica? (It would be a problem with the replication settings, but would explain the behavior.)
I think the grey folder icon indicates a “Private folder”. Is the person who created the folder the one moving the folder? If not, try that.
What if we try replacing one of these bad folders? Create a new folder, move documents into it, delete old folder, rename new folder to same name as old folder. What does that look like the next day?
If none of the above works, then try this:
Open the mailfile in designer client.
Select all the “bad” folders and cut.
Replace design to something else, such as R5 mail template.
Open database.
Replace design back to current mail template.
Paste folders back in.

I’ve tried the steps you mentioned above but not the last one though. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks a lot.
