Firewall problems?

Once in a while, when I try to access the Domino server from a Notes client via the internet (external IP addr), the connection times out. If I try to replicate my mail, the status bar will stay at “Connected to server” forever. The Domino server uses an internal IP addr, and the firewall has an external IP address (for external users to replicate mail)that maps to the internal IP addr of the domino server. The only way to fix this problem is rebooting the firewall, then everything will work for about a week, then the same problem occurs again. Anyone having the same issue? Or do you think something is wrong with the firewall? Cisco tried to telnet to port 1352, and they were getting response back, so they claim it’s not a firewall problem.

Subject: Firewall problems?

I put my $$ on something is wrong on the firewall. I have a firewall (I have the LITE model.) I have not

rebooted mine in the last 165 days. It is a simple linux firewall, but if you

are having to reboot because of no response then something is wrong. A

firewall should be left alone after it has been configured.

HTH – Cheers

P.S.

Details about the firewall can be found at the following URL: a http://www.snapgear.com/lite.html
