Find this forum difficult to use

  1. After you post a reply to a topic, I should go to the articles-list view, and reopen the topic under which you just posted the reply. There’s no direct way to do that. I just want to continue with the thread. Now I use the Back button to do this, but it’s not very convenient. It’ll be better if there’s a link on the page.2. I think it should have a view which will show a topic and all its replies in a page. It’s unconvenient to open the replies one by one. I waste a lot of time in doing that. And it’ll be awful to look through a long thread for a dial-up user.

I’m new to this forum. Maybe it do has the functions I mentioned above. If so, can someone tell me where to find them. Thanks in advance. And maybe they shouldn’t be so difficult to find. If not so, I suggest that the person who in charge of this forum add them as soon as possible.

Mengchen,

You make some very good points, but I don’t imagine the person or persons who maintain this forum will see them. I suggest you click on Feedback near the bottom of the blue navigation bar on the left and submit your concerns there.

Subject: it’s possible to use this forum with the Notes client

…you can replicate it to your own workstation if you like. It’s much easier, imho. There’s a downside: you don’t get a notification by mail, if someone posts a response to a topic you posted with the Notes client.

Subject: RE: it’s possible to use this forum with the Notes client

Thought of that for a time. But I don’t know how to do it. Can some one give me some detail info of doing that? Thanks in advance!

Subject: to the right,

…under resources, there’s a link ‘native notes access’. Or click here:

Subject: RE: to the right,

I’ve registered via the Notes client, and I can replicate from the server. However, when I try to post, there’s only one choice “entry not found in index or view’s index not built” in the Category, Release and Platform fields. And when I click “Save and Close”, it says “You are not authorized to perform that operation”.

Subject: RE: to the right,

Thank you very much. But I still have another question. I’ve registered on this site. So should I register again using Notes?

Subject: RE: to the right,

Yes, you will have two separate registrations – one for browser access and one for Notes access.By the way, the Notes registration process sometimes fails. If this happens to you, use the Feedback link on the web site to report the problem to IBM.

Subject: Like Rod said, yes. It’s neccessary because…

…your Notes ID file needs to be crosscertified with the Notes.net Dominodomain /NotesWeb, to allow author access.
