Find function question

I have a question about how the “Find“ function works. When I first open a DB, it always opens at the very first Category or Document in a specified View, which is good.
If I have selected another document, change Views, then go back to the original View, it returns to the document I had selected previously…is that correct? If yes, is it possible to always return the User to the 1st Doc or View each time they open a View?

Try the following steps

Open HCL Notes and right-click on the affected database icon on your Workspace.
Choose Application > Properties (or Database > Properties).
In the Properties window, click the Launch tab (the 5th tab).
Under the When opened in the Notes client section, uncheck the box for “Restore as last viewed by user”.

Thx for yours, but my DB/Properties/Launch tab does not allow me to uncheck the box for “Restore as last viewed by user”. I only have the option to select one choice.

You got the wrong “Restore as last viewed by user”. There is an option with the same name further down the dialog:

Thx for yours, but that setting appears to only be avaialable if the “Open designated Frameset = Borderframe“, which we do not use.

Hi @PaulRyan ,

The setting that you will need to change is at the View design level.

When you have the View in Design Mode, open the View Properties, then click on teh ‘Information’ tab.

There is a property labeled “On Open” the for you will most likely be set to “Go to last opened document”.

If you want the user to be navigated to the first document/category in the View, change that property to “go to top row”.

Got that. I open the DB and it always opens at the top row of the Main view.

My problem is when the DB is open, after I change views and return to the original view. So I have a view open with a doc highlighted…

Then I go to another view…

Then I return to the original View. I want it to take me to the top row in that view… not the doc that I had been on previously

Is that possible?
