File List for DST

For those of you running the agent in Admin mode on Windows servers, how are you generating the File list with just the path and file names? I can do so, but it requires me to massage the data with Excel. Has anyone found a single tool to create the file list?

Thanks everyone.

Load convert -l on the server console

-l

Generates a list of mail files by reading people’s mail files from the Domino directory. Writes the list to a text file.

Hi,

In certain version (mostly in french-it happens in 6.5.4Fp1), this command can generate an error:

Mail Convert Failed: Unable to build a list of mail files in ‘c:\temp\maillist.txt’; View ‘Server\Mail Users’ is missing in the Server Name & Address Book database

because this specific line with the “-l” option is looking for a view that doesn’t exist. In fact , it exist but the alias is missing

If you use the load convert to migrate a mail file it will work but not with the “-l” option.

Also, if you put the wrong alias, you get an error in the admin client :

Impossible d’ouvrir la vue Mail Users: document non valide ou inexistant

You can do it from the OS level too…

When I need a list of files in a simple path format without all the garbage, I use this command:

dir /b /s *.nsf >textfile.txt

This will generate a clean list of all the nsf file below the directory you run the command in and puts it in a text file.

You can then manipulate the file by removing the non-mail db’s (sort by path) and then remove the path before the data folder to make it compatible with the agent…

OR

You can use a custom view in the NAB and export in .CSV format using File/Export, then in Excel, copy the filename column and paste in a simple text file… Just make a column in the view to show the server so you can sort by server to spli your list.
