Hi,
I am running Lotus Notes 8.5 Client, Domino 7.x Server. Everyone so often when I try to open a document that has attachment I get an error “File Cannot Be Created”. I have to exit Lotus Notes Client , Reload it and it opens it fine.
Any ideas?

sounds like either a corrupt windows user profile folder or possibly the write permissions to your windows profile are messed up.

I am having the same issue with “file cannot be created” when trying to open an attachment. If the program is closed and restarted, it works for a short time. I am having the issue with an account/profile that was created and loaded on a freshly loaded Windows XP Pro laptop. I am running Lotus Notes 8.5.2FP1 on the machine. If the file attachment is saved to the local drive, it will open fine with the relative program.
Have searched for months all over the web for a solution. Any help would be appreciated.
Subject: How I prevent “file cannot be created” error
- open a notes doc containing an attachment2. double click attachment to open the “open attachment” dialog which shows the temporary folder to which the attachment will be saved
3.before clicking Edit/View/Save/Open buttons, make sure the “working directory” folder exists, that you have edit rights to it, that there is enough space etc.
4.click Edit/View/Save/Open button
