File attachment icon is unavailable | chat history disappearing in Notes chat | Sametime v11.6 | RHEL 8.5

Hello,

I have installed MongoDB v4.4.10.1, Domino v11.0.1, and Community v11.6 on RHEL 8.5 environment. I am yet to install and configure the Sametime proxy and have not configured the SSO part as well.

There are two issues noticed in my sametime environment -

  1. File attachment is not appearing in the Notes client chat, sometimes it is suddenly appearing
  2. Some chat history is appearing sometimes but some are not appearing. ( Correctly tuned the setting in CommunityServices ie. relax, etc )
  3. Is file history available in the ST v.11.6?

Kindly help to address these issues.

with regards to your Inquiries:

1)File attachment is not appearing in the Notes client chat, sometimes it is suddenly appearing

Please check Policies.users.xml file and make sure that im.2005.label = Allow client-to-client file transfer (IC) is enabled in Policies.

2.Some chat history is appearing sometimes but some are not appearing. ( Correctly tuned the setting in CommunityServices ie. relax, etc

with regards to Chat history. this would be better handled in a case. I say that because more than likely you may have a configuration issue, possibly with Mongo, which will require reviewing the configuration of your environment.

3) Is file history available in the ST v.11.6?

Thanks for your update. The Sametime file attachment issue is resolved after changing the value from 0 to 1 against all values of im.400 in parameters - current-value and default-value in the policies.user.xml

In the Sametime Proxy Web Chat the text formatting (Bold, Italic, and attach a file) is greyed out

the technote that you are referring too, applies to all versions Sametime.

from 8.52, to 9, 10 and 11.x

this feature is not available when using group chat
