I have searched the forum re. this issue but have not found a definitive solution to this problem. My form has approx. 150 fields small by comparisaon to some I have found.
Any ideas ?

Subject: Field is too large(32k) or View’s column…
you need to be more specific. this error can appear in many places. when and where are you seeing this?
Subject: RE: Field is too large(32k) or View’s column…
It occurs while in edit mode on the notes client when trying to retrieve values via lkup’s in multiple fields approx 60 fields. The lkup’s are done based on a previously built criteria from other fields within the document.

Maybe you’re returning a large (32k) set of data into a field and then trying to work with that set of data?

Actually the data that is returned in most field is only abou 1k - 2k nothing close to the 32k limit that’s the troubling part of this - pinpointing the underlying issue.

hi
you should post some piece of code, say exactly when the error occurs, and tell us how you check things…
Subject: RE: Field is too large(32k) or View’s column…
what kind/how much data is in the field(s) being looked up? Are the lookups to the actual fields or columns in a view? There are lots of postings and tips in here regrading the subject. Most certainly one of them would apply.

The fields contain the dblkup’s to views and returns the text data. The fields have similar lkup’s they are parsed out alphabetically example: contactAA_AG, contactAH_AP and so on to Z. It was done this way so that no one field gets to large and in fact when we test them individually most do not exceed 1 or 2k none even come close to the 32k limit. One thing I did encounter as I added back the fields to the form while testing is that it seemed to give me the error around the 40th field. Could this be somehow cumulative, fields ? or lkups ?
