Fallback from 6.51 to 5.0.11

Working on upgrade plan from 5.0.11 to 6.51. BUT upper management wants to know how easy it would be to get back to 5.0.11 if we run into problems.

Since this is on zSeries, I figured this:

  1. Delete any full text indexes and then shut down server.

  2. Unmount 6.51 product libraries

  3. Unmount 6.51 version of /notesdata

  4. Mount 5.0.11 product libraries and /notesdata

  5. start up server and rebuild full-text indexes.

I tried this with a test server and while it seems to work, I had one problem:

Before starting the server up, I ran a “fixup -v -f -j”. Seemed to work but several databases could not be fixed up: error 02:9F

Bringing up the server is OK. If I run fixup later, they’re fine.

So what’s causing this 02:9F? I made sure the ODS is still at version 5 for our mailboxes and a subdirectory where we kept our in-house applications.

Thanks!
