External user authentication and Readers field

Hi

I’m new with Lotus Web develope. I am trying to do a DB where an external user (non lotus notes client user) reads documents. I have protected it with readers field. For external user authentication, I added it in document server as people and as Web user in Web/Web Configuration about R5 File Protection of Document Server Configuration. I added it in Set/Modify Access Control List with POST and GET attributes.

Well, Authentication external user works fine, my problem is that it doesn´t can to read docs though external user name is

contains in Reader field. I did a test with my lotus client user, and works fine in web.

Why doesn´t can external user read docs though it is contains in reader field?

Why does can lotus clieent user web authentication read docs? (it’s contains in readers field too)

Web Authentication works fine.

Thanks in advance.

Jorge,

It’s a bit difficult for me to be sure I understand your issue, but I think you’re saying that a Notes Client can see ReaderNames protected documents, but a Web Browser cannot.

Make a dummy form called TEST and put a field in it that evaluates @UserName. Have your browser bring up that form and see what name they’re using. Now compare that name to the values in your ReaderNames field.

Make a simple view that displays the document for your Notes Client and then open that same view with the browser to verify that you’re not missing the document for other reasons.

good luck,
