Exporting document contents to excel

Let me preface this by saying I’m no where near a script pro but I do know enough to be dangerous.

So anyway, what I am trying to do is export a document to excel. The reason I need a document and not a view is the doc contains 73 rows of data and is independent of data in other forms. For example, doc 1 has 73 assets for Austin, doc 2 has 73 assets for another site, etc

Before posting this message, I did some searching in both this forum and the 4/5 forum. I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, but I found something close.

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/sandbox.nsf/Search?SearchView&Query=export%20and%20excel&SearchOrder=1&SearchMax=0&SearchWV=FALSE&SearchFuzzy=FALSE&Start=1&Count=10

I used the sandbox code however it places the data in column format as opposed to row. For example, the form I am exporting has 73 assets listed on it (machine type, serial number, owner, etc). When I use the sandbox code, instead of the machine types being in column a they are pasted across row a. The resulting form looks like this

serial1 serial2 serial3 serial4

instead of

serial1

serial2

serial3

serial4

Can anyone help?

Thank you.
