Subject: explorer.exe process uses 100% cpu resource
I had the same problem, now resolved. I have found this procedure to remove the problem. It was in italian language and i have tried to translate in english.
The problem is related with a rootkit. In my PC i have the problem with NOtes and explorer.exe CPU utilization. And much more: when i tried to open f.e. hijackthis or simply find a related website the application or the browser shutting down. In services i found a strange user ./TEAPxnyui in process “SecRdp”. The user wasn’t removable. Only after the procedure i was capable to take the control of the service.
Here is the procedure, below the italian version:
Bye
Giacoz
Use autoruns from sysinternals
In Section Image Hijacks there is a strange element related to explorer.exe
Clic verify (right button). The file should be non verified
In colum image path you can find the exact path to the file on the machine
Keep in mind the path and restart the PC in safe mode
Try to rename the file (nema and extension)
Then find the corrispondent registry key and delete the folder explorer.exe. Autoruns can find the registry key
or regedit. If necessary set the proper authorization to delete the forder (right clic on the folder…authorization)
Restart the PC in standard mode
Go to www,nod32.it and download the free tool Agent Vp Trojan Cleaner
Delete the file renamed before.
bene a mente.
in modalità standard.
