auto ODS Update in Notes 14 is for most of us a nice feature.
But we have users with big local databases. Some of them havn't enough disk space, some haven't enough time to wait for a compact of more than 100 GB Database at this time :-)
Is there a way to exclude single database or database list from automatic ODS uddate on Notes 14 Client start?
Hello @Juergen Thiel you can use the client notes.ini setting NSF_AlwaysUpdateODS=0 before starting an upgraded client to disable the automatic ODS upgrade.
You can control the automatic upgrade the OSD version for selected databases. you can use the client notes.ini setting NSF_AlwaysUpdateODS=0 before starting an upgraded client to disable the automatic ODS upgrade. The settings described in the following table only apply if you use the NSF_AlwaysUpdateODS=0 setting.
There are several ways to control the on-disk structure (ODS) versions of client-based databases.
As of Notes 12.0.2, upgrading a Notes client automatically upgrades databases in the data directory to the latest ODS format, superseding any client notes.ini settings used to control ODS format. Although not recommended, you can use the client notes.ini setting NSF_AlwaysUpdateODS=0 before starting an upgraded client to disable the automatic ODS upgrade.
You can add this setting via desktop policy so that it will not upgrade automatically.
Hello @Juergen Thiel I don't think this is possible and can be an enhancement. You should create a support case so that it can be investigated further by the extended team.
I am not sure if it's worth it or not, In that case if you are using a local database try to keep that database in a different path instead of the Notes Data folder. I would suggest you test it on your test environment. Hope this helps.
