Exchange -> Notes migrations

Does anyone have a step-by-step guide on how to best migrate users from Exchange to Notes? Also, any gotchas to look out for along the way?

What is the best way to have the Exchange and Notes environments co-exist (for a short time) while some users have been migrated to Notes and the others are still on Exchange?

Subject: In answer to the second question

There are various ways to handle the coexistence, just as there are ways to handle the coexistence after the mail is all moved and you discover how many applications can’t be easily ported. The most important issues are those that don’t translate well between the two paradigms, such as doclinks from Notes → Exchange/Outlook and public folders from Exchange → Notes. Microsoft offers a connector which will handle both in very limited fashion. For more robust, usable solutions, Casahl offers both coexistence and migration utilities and services in their ecKnowledge product area, from what I have been told, but doesn’t handle the doclinks. Our company, Genii Software, handles the doclinks with our CoexLinks product, but we don’t handle the public folders, so you will probably need to work out a combined solution between what Microsoft, Casahl and Genii offer, or in some similar fashion. It depends on how long you project the migration and coexistence to last. Our CoexLinks solution will allow either short or long term use of links with both mixed Notes/Outlook clients, as well as support for Notes apps after the migration is complete, and the Casahl solutions can probably handle the public folders and other such issues for either a short or long term, but the Microsoft utilities are slef-described “very short term” solutions.
