Exchange 2003 to Domino 8.5 migration

First off, let me acknowledge that I’m a newbie here and to Domino.

I have a client that is migration from Exchange 2003 to Domino 8.5. I’ve installed an configured Domino 8.5 in my lab and created users. I’ve also installed and configured Exchange 2003 in the lab and have installed the MS Exchange Notes connector as well as Notes 8.5 Client. I’ve worked through a Redbook document on configuring the connector both from the Domino side and from the Exchange side. When I try to start the connector it gives me an event log message:

“Error: Microsoft Exchange Notes Domain must be configured for: LME-NOTES-NTSMEX”

I don’t know if this is a misconfiguration on the Domino side or the Exchange side. Any insights would be most appreciated. Also if anyone has successfully linked Exchange 2003 to Domino 8.5 I’d really like to know how to do that successfully. I’m an Exchange export but a newbie to Domino.

Thanks,

Subject: Looks like the Exchange Connector is missing a Domino Domain reference somewhere

Did you:

  • Create a Foreign Domain document in Domino to point to the Exchange Connector’s mailbox file (pp199-200 of the Redbook)? If so, what’s the name of that Domain (should be something simple and clear, e.g. Exchange2003)?

  • Properly configure the name of your active Domino domain in the Lotus Notes Address Space Properties dialog (p216 of the Redbook)? If so what’s the name of that Domain (should be the same as the name on your public Address Book)?

Let us know if that helps,
