Exchange 2000 and Domino Server access through LDAP

Hi,

I have a Query and require a solution on the same. I tried it a lot but its not happening and i think this works.

I have setup Exchange 2000 in the Domain called “Moses” and my server name is “Alaska” in ONE Machine. There are 20 users whose accessing the mails in exchange.Users are created in Active Directory and i understand that its uses Port 389 which is by default.

I have setup Utility Domino server as LDAP Server and it also uses Port 389 on different machine. There are databases inside the Domino server.

I have also setup a Directory Assistance in domino throught which Domino Server can pull Exchange users and open the databases using LDAP Port.

So when i am trying to access the Databases on the Domino Server through Internet Explorer and

its ask me for the username and password.I feed in the username and password of exchange users.

And my database should open. But it doesnt get authenticated. so i cannot open the Domino server Database with exchange users.

Can any one help me out giving me the step how can i make exchange users Talk to Domino through LDAP.

I am aware there is a connector in Exchange but i want to make this work through LDAP.

Somwhere i am going wrong–Please Do Help

Thanx in Advance

Regards,

Mayur

Obvious Question, but in the Directory Assistance Database have you enamble “trusted for Credentials”?

Presumably you don’t have identical user names in both the Domino Directory and Exchange, otherwise you will get a conflict, with Domino winning as it is the first searched directory.

Have you tried the ldapsearch.exe from your Domino Server to the Exchange AD? Does it return accurate results. Maybe there is a lookup issue. Is DNS configured correctly?
