Excessive paging and Disk Queue Length on Windows 2003 SP2 and Domino R8.5

We run Domino with about 600 users on Windows 2003 SP2. All of our clients were R6.5x and our Domino version was R8.02. We had no issues with Server performance at the time we had this Config. We upgraded our servers to R8.5 in May. Again we were most users on R6.5x and a pilot group of about 35 users on R8.02. We upgraded our pilot users to R8.5. Still no performance problems. We then started to upgrade our users to R8.5 at a clip of about 60 to 70 a week. The first week no issues. After the second week paging and Disk queue lengths increased. As we added users each week our paging and queue lengths increased and we are now at 10,000 pages per second and a average disk queue length of around 40.

Is anyone else seeing this increased paging and queue lengths?

We also upgraded our Server in January to a HP DL380 with Dual quad processors and 4 GB of ram from a HP with two Dual processors with 2 GB of Ram.

Our cpu utilization averages about 3%. This has not changed with the upgrades.

Our free memory is about 1.8GB and this has not changed with the upgrades either.

Only disk queue lengths and paging has increased. Our data directory is a raid 5 with 12 146GB 15k sas drives.

you’ll probably get a better response in the 8.5 forum  Also, have you considered 8.5 FP1 that was just released?
