Excel attachment opening problem in Lotus Notes 701

Hello all,

I encountered some problems in Lotus Notes Client and don know whether it is a problem or limitation of Lotus Notes Client.

The scenario is that some users want to open microsoft office attachment like excel, word, powerpoint. It opens so fast if using “right click” > open. Although it waits so long if double click the attachment in document. around 1 minutes even for small size file

The version of Domino and Notes are of 7.0.1, I tried English and Japanese version for Notes client, problem still exists. I also try to remove temporary files in windows user profile related to lotus notes, it doesnt help any way. The version of office that users use including office XP,office 2003,office 2000

Would anyone have any ideas about what is going on for this attachment opening issue?

There is no problem in R6, but exist after upgrading to R7

We are running Notes R7.0 (not 7.0.1) and Office 2000. We aren’t having this problem.

I’d say it may be a notes 7.0.1 issue only.

There’s also a slim possibility it would be a windows permissions/mappings issue, as there have been a lot of those lately, though I’d think that would break it completely, not just slow it down.

They are saying good things about 7.0.2…
