First i work in notes and when trying to access some docs on the server the status bar says Oppening… and then i run task manager and notes is not responding then i have to restart the comp to run lotus again!
This message shows up when i try to run notes!

if your notes crashes and you kill it from task manager then it will not start directly as there are some more processes of notes running, you can see these processes in task manager as starting with “n” you have to kill these tasks too so that you can start notes without restarting your pc, but safer way is search for killnotes.exe in sandbox that simply kills all notes processes.

Sameer is right about needing to kill all the Notes processes to restart.
I wonder if the “not responding” problem is due to trying to open a really large document. Depending on the size of the document and available network bandwidth, it could look like Notes is hung up when it is just trying to access a very large document. Or maybe there is time-consuming code that executes when the database is opened.
