Error upgrading to 7.0.2: "The java class is not found: run" (2nd post)

Hi,

This is my 2nd (desperate) post on this problem:

When I click on setup.exe to upgrade to 7.0.2 the application starts initialising the java environment then displays the following error message: “The java class is not found: run”

I’ve found 3 references to this in the Notes forum. One suggestion was to install Java 1.4.2_11 (see http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/e0475cf4a7724d27852571e1003ff4a0?OpenDocument).

I downloaded and installed the latest Java 1.4.2 from Sun. When installed, the version displays as Java 1.4.2_13-b06, but I still get the same error message installing ND7.

Anybody have any ideas, please?

Hello Robert,

You are not alone as I have received this error as well. I have upgraded 15 Domino servers from either 6.5.3/6.5.5/6.5.5FP1 to 7.0.2. I have 4 servers at 6.5.3 running on Windows 2000 Server that are giving me this error. I have not had any luck with the other posts, but I will respond if I can find a solution.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks, Chris.

I did manage to get beyond the error message, but only by installing the server on an XP test box (PC, not a server - I backed out before completing install).

I’m currently setting up a new server running Windows 2003. Assuming the Domino install works okay, I’ll migrate my server from the old W2K box.

Obviously not an option for you!
