We are currently having problems upgrading our Notes 8.0.2 FP2 to Notes 8.5.1 FP5.
Here is our scenario.
Using Novell’s ZENworks scripting tool, we launch the following list of commands using full admin context (full local, no network mappings);
Enable the MUI in the registry to be able to un-install it.
Un-install the MUI
Disable MUI in the registry
Un-install Notes 8.0.2
Install Notes 8.5.1 with multiuser set to 1
Install FP5
Install Quickr
Install MUI pack
Error message: Lotus Notes MUI Pack for G1
File not found: c:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\framework.provisioning_rc Provisioning proccess failed to launch or was stopped before status could be determined.
You click OK and the MUI pack un-installs.
If you run the same command with user elevated rights, all installs fine!
Why whould this be?
Ran a “Process Monitor” and could not find an Access Denied or a path/file not found.
The issue may be happening because the MUI pack installer is installing to a restricted directory and you may need to be running with elevated privileges to install to that location.
However, we would like to gather some additional information so we can better help you with this issue.
What Windows OS Version are you installing on?
It sounds like you are an Administrator on the system, but just to confirm, is this the case?
Can you please attach the installer and workspace logs for the failed installation? There should be a zip file in the \framework\rcp\deploy\installHistory folder with all those logs. If there isn’t, you can find the log files in \Data\workspace\logs directory.
