Error message: Unable to open file

I have an agent that I had set up in R5 to run on a schedule on the server and write a txt file to a mapped network drive. All I did was upgrade Domino Server/Client to 6.01 and now when my scheduled agent runs all I get is “error message: Unable to open file”. How could this be if no other variables have changed. I do know that in 5 when the agent ran with my credentials it was in fact the server who had to authenticate with the mapped drive in order to write to it. Now with 6 there is this option to run on behalf of… I have been playing with this a bit because I have figured out that it is somehow a breach of security that I am running into and I have even specified that that scheduled agent run on behalf of the server id and that still didn’t fix the problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem or knows of how to fix it?

Thanks

Rob

Hi,

I have the same problem. My schedule agent can access system file locally but on a mapped network drive, it doesn’t work. I added myself and the Domino server in the agent security but I still have the same problem.

Any other idea how to fix this problems?

Thank you,

alexandre

Rob, Two quick questions? 1) Are you running the Domino Server as a Service. I am not sure if this will matter but it may give you Administrative rights to access data on that server. 2) This may be an ECL issue in R6. Pull a copy of your server.id locally and allow both the server and yourself the ability to access the file system in the ECL of the server ID. Then drop the server and replace the copy of the server ID with this new copy. I know that when you install LEI in R6, you need to modify the server’s ECL to allow Lotus Notes Companion Products/Lotus Notes the ability to access the Files system and other rights.

Just a guess!!
