Error message: "The Lotus Domino Server service on Local Computer started and then stopped."

Hi,

Lotus Domino Server runs about 1 week ok and then the machine automatically restarts at 3:00 AM (maybe Windows update) and then the service does NOT start. (Three clients during the last 3 months, the same symptoms).

Windows says:

“The Lotus Domino Server (EDominoData) service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.”

The .out files say:

createServerSocket=Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 0: JVM_Bind

Unable to open listener socket: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 0: JVM_Bind

java.net.SocketException: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 0: JVM_Bind

Please check if another Server Controller instance is running in the same data directory.

Did anyone have the same problem? I have it always on every new installation on Windows 2008 :-(((

Thank you a lot!

Subject: Fresh install of Domino fails to start as Windows Service

I’m having the same problem. I just installed 8.5.2. No errors during the install and after the initial launch I chose to install as a service.

The error I recieve is:

The Lotus Domino Server (CProgramFilesIBMLotusDominodata) service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

I uninstalled and reinstalled just to confirm it wasn’t a bad install. This is on Windows 7 64bit.
