Error loading USE or USELSX module:

  1. Whenever I copy a Lotusscript library from my development database into any of my application databases I get this error whenever I want to use this library first time in an existing form.

  2. Whenever I copy a Lotusscript library from my developement database into any of my application databases to update an old version of this library I get also this error in all forms, agents and view where this library is refrenced via USE.

I can solve this by forcing Notes to recompile the library in the target database; sometimes also one or some other design elements which reference the script library need to be recompiled to solve this problem.

It seems so as if the libraries contain database specific references in their design interfaces to other design elements

This problem prevents me to use an agent that could automatically update design elements in my applications.

Uhm, which link are you talking about ?

Subject: Interesting, I posted a doclink…

  • Apparently in didn’t come through. I fear I’m new at using Notes to access the forum and I’m not learned enough to know how to post a link that works. If I search the forum for

“LS AND arcane”

it’s the only hit, and about halfway down it describes my (manual unfortunately) process for fixing weirdo compile errors. It’s a PITA, but I don’t have to manually rebuild included modules to make it function - it’s a one process deal that fixes all compilation issues as well as LS will allow it.

  • Hope it helps…

Thanks a lot David ! Hope I will find something, a workaround, that will solve my problem with this compiler too.

  • It’s good to be positive influence here, now and again!

Subject: This sometimes fixes it, which makes me think it’s a bug…

Open the library you pasted, and save it.

I’ve got many times when I modify a library used by an agent, and when I make a change and save I get “Error loading USE or USELSX module”. Simply opening the library again and re-saving fixes the problem 99% of the time.

Though if you’re editing properties of a user-defined class then usually a recompile is needed from that library all the way up to the agent.

It wrecks hell with client replication times, that’s for sure. :frowning:

Thanks for your response, Eric.

I know the workaround how to solve this bug manually. But there is no way to do this automatically. And sometimes just saving the library again in the target database is not enough. Often, as already mentioned, I also have to open one or more other design elements which use the library concerned and save them as well.

I really would appreciate if IBM/Lotus could solve this problem, as it causes us a lot of more work and does not allow us to use our automated design element update system.

Kind Regards,

Joe Herrmann

Hi there, I am receiving this error message when trying to launch a database, and I don’t have the option to save the database or autosave, I am not sure how to remove this error message so that I can access the database that is required for some of the duties that I have in my role. If someone knows of a fix for this, please assist. Thank you.
