Hi,
I am outta ideas for this one.
I am trying to connect to AS400-DB2 from my notes client using LC LSX.
When trying to test the connection with NDCTEST (option 6 for DB2), i get a “Unable to load library db2cli” error.
The notes agent fails on the line
Dim LCConn As New LCConnection (“DB2”) with “Error creating product object” error.
I created a system DSN using the iSeries Access ODBC Driver.
What am i missing ?

Hi Pooja,
As you are running from Notes Client, ensure DB2 is installed on your machine. Next try with lower case i.e
Dim LCConn As New LCConnection (“db2”).

Hi Viki,
Thanks for your reponse.
Oh! i need to instal DB2 on my client to establish a connection ? is there a particular version that i need ?
Also, i intend to move the program to run on a Windows based server. So i guess id need to instal DB2 on the server as well.
PS: had tried lowercase “db2” in the stmt as well.

Yes you need the db2 CLI software installed on the machine that is connecting to DB2. You can just use the Control Center installation. If you hunt about, I think there are even more minimal installations. But control center will install the CLI dll’s

Hi Simon,
Just wanted to clarify that i am trying to connect to “DB2 on iSeries” from my Windows server and client. I beleive the driver i need for this is the “Client Access ODBC Driver” which i have installed.
What i am looking for is a way to tell LC LSX when creating a LCConnection object that the type is “db2 on AS400” and not “db2”, which was somehow apparent when my server was on the iSeries platform.
Any ideas ?
