Error configuring 3rd ND 6.5.1 server

I have a server which previously ran R5.012. I have since decommisioned it, and installed ND 6.5.1 software on it. It is to be the 3rd server in our network, getting the names.nsf from our Hub-server. But when I go through the server setup stages, doing exactly what I did with server no. 2, I get the following message:“File creation error. Unable to create file setupdomwizard.nsf” Anyone have any ideas on this? All help appreciated. I did search this forum, for any previous postings, but drew a blank

thanks in advance

Regards

Ronnie

What platform are you putting this server on? Sounds like a permissions issue on the local drive.

Subject: OS on 3rd Domino 6.5.1 server

I am using Windows 2000. Logging in as Administrator with Full Access. Searched the drives of my two other servers; no trace of a file named setupdomwizard.nsf anywhere. Is it maybe a temporary file used only during installation, later to be removed? In that case, maybe the free-space on my c:drive is too small, I only have 600 MB.

It still puzzles me.

Depending on how you have your page file set up, 600MB could be a little tight, but Domino should be putting that file in the Domino data directory anway. Is that on the C: Drive?

Hi Greg. No, my domino directory is on my D-drive, which has approx 14 GB’s of free space. Strange thing this, and something I’ve never come across in the past 5 years of Domino server setup.

Could it be that the file Domino needs was somehow forgotten when the software was copied on my network?

Could be, I haven’t done a fresh (non-upgrade) install of Domino in a while, at least not with D6. See if you can get the source CD or do a fresh download from Passport Advantage.
