Subject: Runs as server…
Hi, Rob!
My gut tells me that the Compact process runs as the server - not as you - I glean that from looking at the documents created in my archive log as well as the database activity from when the archive task runs.
Having said that - it appears from your post that NOTES02 has authority to create databases on ARCHIVE1 - so that doesn’t seem to be it.
Is NOTES02 also listed in ‘Create new Replicas’ ? (Just below Create databases on the Server document). I would assume it’s also listed in ‘Access Server’.
Are both NOTES02 and ARCHIVE1 both listed as managers of mail/mymail.nsf ?
I’ve never actually set up archiving to a different server - so I’m about out of ideas!
Oh, any recent changes to any of the security settings? Has ARCHIVE1 been restarted?
I did find a similar issue in the 8.5 forum in 2012 that is similar desciption - although he says that the database is created and the archiving completed before the error. Have you checked to make sure that the database didn’t get created?
