Error Accessing Directory Entry when Recertifying IDs manually

When attempting to manually recertify users via the 8.5 administrator client (Configuration Tab | Security | Certificates | Certificate Expiration - then Tools | Certification | Certify), I get the following error message, after entering the user’s password: Error Accessing Directory EntryThe directory entry for: (user name) will not be updated due to the following error: Field is too large (32K) or View’s column _selection formulas are too large Do you want to certify the ID file anyway?

I am using the 8.5 client, administrator and designer only, on Windows XP–I’m accessing a 6.5.6 server and Domino Directory, running on Windows 2K3. I did not have this problem running 8.01 against our 6.5.6 server, and am able to recertify Ids if I switch to another client, so the problem definitely appears to be related to either this version or possibly this installation of Notes.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks!

Subject: Changes here due to directory independence

There were changes in the area where this error is coming from because of migration to API’s that support more than just NSF repositories for people. The error may be coming from that new code. Investigating.
