Enable Server for DB2- Option Grey out

I’m trying to Enable DB2 on the Domino Server. The option is grey out!!!

INFO:

Windows 2003 SP2 64 Bits

Domino 8.5 64 Bits

DB2 9.5 SP3

From the procedure I found this:

Procedure

  1. From the Domino Administrator, click Configuration.

  2. Click DB2 Server – Enable Server for DB2.

Note If the feature Enable Server for DB2 is not active, the Domino server is already enabled for DB2, or you are using a pre-Domino 7 version of the Lotus Domino and Notes software, or you are using a platform other than Microsoft® Windows® or IBM AIX.

Facts:

The Server isn’t already enabled for DB2

The server is using Domino 8.5, so not a pre-domino 7 version

The server is running on Windows 2003 64 bits (so not other than Microsoft Windows or IBM AIX)

What is missing on the Domino server to allow me to ENABLE it for DB2?

I have already read these things:

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.help.domino80x.doc/DOC/H_SUPPORTED_PLATFORMS_AND_HARDWARE_AND_SOFTWARE_REQUIREMENTS_OVER.html

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=1041&uid=swg27011055

Also, does IBM DB2 Access for Lotus Domino 8.5 exist for Windows 64 Bits? Or do we need to install the same release available for Windows 2003 32 bits?

Subject: Unsupported platform

The DB2 feature is not supported on 64 bit platforms.

Please note that we are no longer doing active development of the NSFDB2 feature. We are not enhancing this feature and not certifying newer version of DB2. Our focus is on enhancing NSF. The feature IS still supported and there are no specific plans to withdraw support at this time.

Subject: Thank you!

Thank you very Much for this answer.I had opened a PMR with IBM and they didn’t told me it was an unsupported platform.

At least now I know it and based on the test I have done you are 100% right!

What is your recommandation for NSFDB2, should we stick with:

Windows Server 2003 32 Bits

Domino 8.0.1

DB2 9.1 SP6

Subject: Platform

A 32-bit version of an 8.0.x or 8.5.x will work, it depends on what your other needs are. I wouldn’t base the platform/version selection strictly on the DB2 feature availability.
