Embedded view and tabbed table

We have this strange behaviour in the Notes client. We work a lot with embedded views and tabbed tables. Always worked fine up to Notes 8 (8.5.1 FP 2 to be exact).

Some (!) users experience a lock of the application when clicking in a view. After putting focus on a document in the embedded view all other navigational functions (tabbed table and hotspots) stop working. Re-opening the application/database solves this issue, but is very annoying.

Subject: Same Problem Here

We have seen this exact same problem and it has been very sporadic in its appearance. For those people that have seen the issue, it keeps coming back. We have tried fresh installs, various methods of cleanups and while we have had some temporary success, the problem has always recurred. And then there are other folks where we just can’t get the problem to manifest itself.

We have seen this issue on Notes R8.5, R8.5.1, and R8.5.1 FP2; we haven’t tried it on other versions, so I can’t speak to those.

We are at a bit of a loss at where to go from here, very frustrating.

Subject: Our Solution

Well, we’ve managed to get this issue addressed by uninstalling Notes, deleting all of the Notes subdirectories, and then doing a fresh install of the Notes client. So the only thing that the user retains is what is in their mailfile and since we synch Contacts with the mailfile, they retain those. But all of the config info is gone. I would be sure to not have roaming enable for the user, though.
