We are testing sending emails using Lotus Script and LEI. Previously, we were using Agents, LEI, and forms we designed in the Lotus Designer.
We have figured out how to change font size etc. but cannot find out how to embed images. We would like to add our company logo to the emails and either add a background image or change the background color of the email.
Can this be done with Lotus Script?

Hi Bob,if you are daring, you could use DXL for fully dynamically create all of it. Another way could be to use MIME and the LS mime classes. If your message will go out anyway that would the best option.

There are different ways to do all this using LotusScript. If this is a standard set of images, you can pre-create documents with those images, then lookup the documents and use AppendRTItem to copy over the while rich text field, which in this case only has an image. If that is not flexible enough, you can use DXL or the MIME classes to build your own rich text. If those options all sound pretty complicated, or you need a more robust solution quickly, you can go with a third party product such as our Midas Rich Text LSX, which includes both the ability to create formatted MIME messages (see our Send It! sample from our website) and the ability to import images on the fly whereever you want and the ability to do almost any other formatting you want, all quite easily. There are a couple of other products around that are also third party that are more limited than Midas that might or might not be cheaper depending on your needs.

The easiest way to embed an image in your automatically generated rich text, is to create a configuration document with some template rich text that includes the image, and copy that into your new memo. Likewise, to set background image, you can do this manually on a document, and CopyAllItems into a new document, then customize the contents.

Pre-compose your e-mail as Andre suggest, and store it as a Stationary for future use.
