Email Signature

Hi,I created an html file for my email signature. However, when it is received by another lotus user it appears to be okay. Although, when I receive it from an external email address such as hotmal & rogers it is displayed as plain text. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Also, how come within the lotus environment the underline under www.webaddress.ca keeps blinking. Below is the code that I am using. Please help!

.myHR { height:3px; width:325px; text-align: left; }--> .nametxt { font-family: Tahoma; font-size:10.0pt; }--> .addrtxt { font-family: Tahoma; color:#990000; font-size:10.0pt; font-weight: bold; }-->

Subject: Email Signature

I had an issue with HTML signature format when sending to external recipients. I’m not sure this applies here, but I solved it by setting the field “Format for messages addressed to internet addresses” in the location document to “MIME format”.

You’re/Lotus is not doing anything wrong.

The HTML is lost because in the good ole days before GUI e-mail programme e-mail was nothing but plain text and this is still the “standard.” (It’s sent as 72 characters ASCII text) Nice for those of us who don’t us GUI’s e-mail clients - THEY’RE JUST SO SLOW :slight_smile: especially the web ones. Anyway back to your question. You need to configure you notes to say when sending the e-mail to convert it using MIME. This way it will send it with all the extra (USELESS) information to display.

As for the blinking, it’s just where your “cursor” is located when viewing the e-mail. (I assume it happens in read mode)

( The opinions above are those express by a Luddite when it comes to e-mail. Can’t help myself - tired of the graphic spam and the tiny/HUGE fonts and all the COLOURS, etc. etc. I admit there a useful features of GUI e-mails, I just hate all the abuse - personal favourite - org announcements in word attachments - Umm, couldn’t you just add the text to the e-mail??? )

Thanks for the info but honestly I don’t think you need to cut people up for wanting to make their company email more professional looking. Also, adding a link to your companies website with an email signature that basic computer users can just click on IS USEFULL!!
