Edit Search Engine in 'My Work' Welcome Page

Dear All

I thought this might be simpler than it actually is, but I’m still struggling!

All I want to do is add our internal search engines to the default SearchSite list within the My Work welcome page.

The form, HPSearch has a shared field called SearchSites. Within this field is this…

“------------------------------------------|##excite_lotusnetfind_us&nrm=aol&pri=on&xls=b&xll=65”:

“Lycos|Lycos.com”:

“HotBot|http://www.hotbot.com/?MT=^^^”:

“------------------------------------------|##Google Search”:

“Google|Google Search”:

“AltaVista|Yahoo Search - Web Search”:

If I take off the last : and add on a new line

“MyServer|http://MyServer.MyCompany.co.uk/qfsearch/SearchServlet?”

I still only have the default 4 search engines available. Something else must be buried deep in the code and I can’t find it anywhere.

Any help much appreciated.

To add a new search engine to the design of the My Work welcome page:1. edit the LayoutEditorDlg form.

  1. Change the SearchSiteList formula to add your new engine. Change the field to be Computed (rather than ComputedWhenComposed)

  2. Change the SearchEngine field to include the property “Refresh choices on document refresh”

  3. Edit the ng-BasicsSearch field formula to include the new search engine

Note that the above changes have not been tested for any possible regression to the existing functionality.
