Designer:

I was trying to change a role in a database. It appears that everytime i change a role assignment, I have to log off lotus notes and log back in to get the role assignment to take effect. In testing a database, sometimes I have to assign the role a dozen times before I get it to work like I want.

I was testing a role and of course had to close the client, the administrator and the designer.

while closing the designer, I receive a message that designer could not asscess a design element of a database that I had not worked on for days. Hung up and was completely un responsive. had to use task manager to close designer.

Can you clarify the following. - Exact Notes version.

  • Fix pack installed (if not, try with fixpack3).

  • What design elements are not seeing the role change?

As a general rule however if you are working with roles/ACL the best thing to do is have another machine (or VM) to connect to your test server with a generic user (with set roles) you are testing.
