ECL messages in log

I’ve noticed in several users logs that two messages seem to popup:ECL Modification: username/server (actual name not listed here to protect the identity by me!) was granted the right: access to current database (ECL Type: using workstation, ECL Name: username/server (of the persons log I look at))

ECL Alert Result: Code signed by username/password (same as first one listed above) was allowed to execute with the right: access to current database.

We are suspicious that a fellow administrator is snooping in some peoples email address, and the persons name is the one listed in the messages above. What are those messages referring to?

Subject: ECL messages in log

Typically, an entry such as you describe, when found as an entry in someone’s local notes log indicates that someone received the ECL alert dialog box and then either selected execute once or start trusting the signer. Once they selected execute once or start trusting, then the task selected ran and the second log entry was made.

I do not see any indication - at least in the way you have described it - that any type of ‘snooping’ is in progress. That entry is generally logged when the user him/her self gets the prompt

Just my thoughts on the matter - you should refer to documentation on Notes Security and ECL’s for more detailed information.
