EasySync Pro 4.2.3 does not sync with client 6.5.4 running

EasySync Pro cannot sync with the Notes Client Running.

All the time I get errors about the names.nsf file is open and to share it I must be running a domino server.

At first EasySync cannot find my notes.ini, so I had to modify the path to the file in the EasySync setup ussing the “short names” for the directories. Somehow easysync had trouble to check files in folders with accented characters and spaces in it (I’m using an Thinkpad T21 W2K spanish and a palm m500, so the Local Config folder is called “Configuración Local”.

Also, seems that easysync is trying to reach the files using the file system instead of the notes dll.

Some help will be appreciated.

Regards

I have set Easysync Pro 4.2.3 to some of my customer with no problem at all (for either PALM or Pocket PC; I’m in a Spanish spoken country). Make sure to download the ML (MUltilingual) version from the Passport Advantage site. The Palm sync must be installed prior to installing the easysync pro conduit. Launch the easysync, and check the “source” database. I usually set it to work with local replicas of email nsf and personal address book. After it’s set press the Palm’s hotsync button.

I don’t get it why you use accented directories, the product access lotus\notes\data (It might be within Archivos de Programa directory, but I usually set it at root). When I install Notes in XP, I do select “only for this user” , so I be able to select the installation path and avoid XP problems.

If installed “Notes for all users” was used, I usually move back the nsf’s to lotus\notes\data directory and I edit the notes.ini to point to this new path.
