Easily select documents in categorized view columns

Hi

we have applications with lots of catagorized columns in views, some views about 7 categorized columns.

I wonder is there a way that a user can easily (automatically) can select all documents in a particular category?

If this is something used by everyone all the time and each user wants the option to select the category to view, present the user with a dialog of available categories, then execute a FT Search.

Teach users how to do searches can work too.
