E-mail disclaimer

Hi,

I have read several posts regarding adding e-mail disclaimers by modifying the mail.box memo form. I have tried copying and pasting the body field, renaming it to disclaimer and adding a default value in quotes. Unfortunately the disclaimer is not added.

I know that this option is available in v7, but we are running a few applications that our developers believe will not function on v7.

Thanks in advance for your help

Neil

Hi,

This is the document I followed…

These are the actions performed.

  1. Open the MAIL.BOX template (MAILBOX.NTF) in Domino Designer.

  2. Open the Memo form.

  3. Find the Body field at the bottom of the form and highlight this field.

  4. Copy and paste this field onto the next line.

  5. Note that you now have an additional body field called Body_1.

  6. It is suggested to change the name of this field to something appropriate, such as “Disclaimer”, for example. Make sure the Disclaimer field is on a line of its own.

  7. Click on the new field, and the default value will be selected. In the pane on the lower right, type in the text in quotes that you wish to go out with every SMTP email.

  8. Click the green arrow button to enter the text.

  9. Escape and save the form.

  10. Replace the design of the MAIL.BOX(es) on the server with this modified template design.

But the outbound SMTP does not contain the disclaimer

Is this a 6.5.3 problem?

Thanks in advance

Neil

I can vouch for Michael’s code - it works very well.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the code… I think i’m being really thick here,

I opened mail.box in designer, navigated to shared code/script libraries which is blank… were is CoreEmailClasses ?

Thanks in advance

Neil

It’s in the mail file.Script Libraries.

Hi Michael,

Is there no way I can do this on the server mail.box rather than individual mail file?
