DX container updates and openshift support

Hello, the latest release of DX (CF202) supports 4.7 . Full support for Openshift 4.7 ended in October 2021 and maintenance support ends in August 2022.

Each version of Openshift is supported for 18 months and currently the latest version released is 4.10.

It is my goal to always run a Full supported version of Openshift and a supported version of DX.

Support for HCL DX appears to not be keeping up with the release cadence of Openshift.

In our lab we have been able to get upgraded to 4.8 but get warnings about deprecated ingress api usage from DX. The warnings go further saying that the API should be removed prior to upgrading to 4.9.

What kind of release cadence can we expect for HCL DX?

Are updates coming soon and when will 4.9 be supported?

Ideally the even versions of openshift (4.8 or 4.10) have longer support statements a so it would be preferable to support those version faster from a HCL perspective

An additional Support Statement that discusses newer releases are addressed in this document...

If you are still concerned, I would suggest opening a Case with HCL

Hello, thanks for the reply. The links provided are not very helpful for planning as they don't state what we can expect for regular patch maintenance.

It appears that it will be difficult to be proactive and keep our Openshift cluster up to date while running HCL DX.

We shall log a ticket regarding the matter.

Beginning with HCL DX 9.5 Container Update CF203, supported Kubernetes levels will be posted to the new DX OpenSource documentation here: https://opensource.hcltechsw.com/digital-experience/cf203/platform/kubernetes/c_kubesupportstatement/ Note: This will be updated shortly for Container Update CF203 and later releases.
