DWA 7 sooo Slow after Win2003 "Restore" in IE but not FireFox - why me? :)

After doing a “restore” on Windows 2003 (it had a few problems) everything works great except for DWA 7 Mail users from the web on IE. I did then try the upgrade from 7.01 to 7.02 on the server but that didn’t help.

The URL sequence is as follows:

starting at http://mail.xyz.com/

which quickly forwards to: http://mail.xyz.com/home.nsf?Open

and this quickly forwards to: http://mail.xyz.com/mail/mailuser.nsf/

and at this point it just sits for about a minute or two. The same happens when opening or creating a new email.

Since users need access via IE what should I do? Are there settings or something to change?

Subject: Solved !

Problem Solved … it was because the instant messaging server was turned off while the other server was being rebuilt.

As a result, those that had the IM option enabled (“Enable Instant messaging”) in their “Preferences” from web mail would end up having problems.

In this case either disabling the above selection or turning on the IM server corrected it. (the IM server was around for testing not a roll out).
