Subject: DWA 7 Archive
Not sure if your definition of archives matches what Lotus “intended”. A Notes archive is usually considered an extension of your mail file and is set setup with criteria that facilitates the movment of messages from your email to the archive, for example messages over 90 days old. The client or the server can perform the movement of mail from the mail file to the archvie.
You can set up multiple archives, each with their own criteria within the Notes client, but there has been a bug for some time in DWA such that the DWA archive profile does not read the same archive profile(s) as created in the Notes client (UNLESS you use Lotus’ default naming convention of “a_” + first 6 letters of the mail file name). DWA also is not supported to work with policies, so if you set an archvie policy for the Notes clinet, it may not work as expected with DWA.
However, if you have an archive created, your can “correct” the DWA archive profile to point to that existing archive. Also, DWA does not see multiple archvie profiles. It can only show one.
Laslty, you need to be sure that you have a config doc for your DWA HTTP server that has the archive features enabled.
If you are looking for public access folders ala MS Exchange, you might want to look at modifying the DWA welcome page and putting the links there or making mods to the DWA template.
