We are testing the migration of 2000+ users from Exchange 5.5 to Lotus Notes /Domino R6. In the Foreign dir source dialog box we select Exchange and press the GO button. The 2000+ users are shown in the left box. If we select one user and press the Migrate button we receive the little red box telling us: “Sorry, an unrecoverable error has occured. Lookup Handle: Handle out of range. Press Enter to abort application.” The same thing happens if we press the Done button instead of Migrate. We also tested the admin client on an XP workstation with the same result. Sometimes you may get a user to migrate. But we always get the red box.

REDBOX of death, no one knows why… Did youever get a response. All Notes peeps have seen this behaviour before, and usually revert to a full uninstall and clean install of Notes. Including NOT reusing your desktop.dsk and notes.ini files etc.

This is the first reply i have got. We have tried a clean install but the problem is the same. The problem always appears at the same place. Do you think this is a a problem with the swedish versions of NT & XP like the multi user install? Our current workaround is to use the R5 client to migrate users.

needed a Hotfix from Lotus.
Works fine with version 6.0.1 CF1 HF5
and, whilst they had the hotfix available, it was only for “Enterprise” customers - nice.
Eventually got it after submitting the NSD files.

Thanks for the information. I think the insurance company I work for is an Enterprise customer but its too big so I don’t know where to get the right information. Regarding the UAE Lookup handle we voted with our feets and gave up on the Lotus/IBM migration tools. We use CMT now. How do I find out about the hotfix program? We have other problems (multiuser and international characters in pathnames
