Duplicate mail message sent when adding attachment

I have a user who’s local mail file (R6.5, replicated mail) is sending a duplicate message every time he sends one with an attachment. The log file shows the same message ID being sent twice while the local mail file shows only 1 sent. This does not seem to be an issue on the server mail file.

I have removed the local mail file and taken a new replica - but this had no effect on the problem. Can anyone shed some light as to where to look on the desktop for answers? There is nothing strange in the location doc, or preferences.

For future reference, this was caused by the user signing and encrypting the emails. Once he stopped doing this, the duplicates stopped. No response from IBM as to why the sign/encrypt caused the problem.
