DST 2007 and DWA Issue

I have gone through the process of updating my server environment for the upcoming DST 2007 changes.

I have:

  1. Updated the server OS with the DST 2007 patch and restarted.

  2. Updated the client OS with the DST 2007 patch and restarted.

  3. Run the JTZU tool to update the Domino JVM.

  4. Updated the Forms6.nsf database and associated CAB files as per the fix.

  5. Run the Agent to update the reservations database.

  6. Run the Agent to update the user mail calendars.

Everything has appeared to have gone smoothly in terms of the Lotus Note client. Everything in my calendar, and reservations are now showing with the correct times.

However, when I log in to DWA, I have two issues.

  1. I am prompted with the warning.

“Your timezone setting is different from your operating systems current one. You can change your timezone setting by going to the Calendar section in the preferences dialog.”

I have done this, but the message persists.

  1. Entries in my calendar via DWA are not showing the correct times. They are 1 hour behind during the affected times. From a Notes client, this is not the case, and they are correct.

I have checked the forms6.nsf to verify that the updated information is in place. It is…

Any one have any suggestions?

Hi,

If you create a calendar entry in DWA, can you look at the fields StartTimeTimeZone and EndTImeZone.

What are the values?

The agents check the StartTimeZone or EndTimeZone to see if they match any of the values in this list:

“Z=9DO=1DL=4 1 1 10 -1 1ZN=Alaskan”
“Z=8DO=1DL=4 1 1 10 -1 1ZN=Pacific”
“Z=7DO=1DL=4 1 1 10 -1 1ZN=Mountain”
“Z=6DO=1DL=4 1 1 10 -1 1ZN=Central”
“Z=5DO=1DL=4 1 1 10 -1 1ZN=Eastern”
“Z=4DO=1DL=4 1 1 10 -1 1ZN=Atlantic”
“Z=3003DO=1DL=4 1 1 10 -1 1ZN=Newfoundland”

The code checks only the Z, DO, DL, and ZN parameters, as the ZX parameter is not significant in this case for Notes clients, and is unused for Domino Web Access sessions. If the field matches one of the above values, the DL parameter will be updated to contain “DL=3 2 1 11 1 1”, reflecting the new DST rule, and the Z, DO, ZN parameters (and for Notes created entries ZX) will remain unchanged.

A. Error: “Your timezone setting is different from your operating system’s current one…”

The following error message may occur if the operating system’s DST rules and DWA Forms DST rules are not in synch.

“Your timezone setting is different from your operating system’s current one. You can change your timezone setting by going to the Calendar section in the Preferences dialog.”

This error is an intended warning so that users are aware there is a mismatch between the OS DST rules and the Forms DST rules.

Note: The error may also occur in cases where the client OS and Forms have both been updated. In this case, have the user reselect their time zone setting in DWA under Tools > Preferences > Calendar.

Thanks for the response. However, it appears that it was a problem with the new forms6.nsf that is available from Lotus Tech Support.

They did indeed update the Time Zone settings for the affected Time Zones with the exception of Atlantic and Newfoundland Time. After speaking with a support technician, it was determined that these were not updated properly, so I had to manually edit those two time zones to reflect the new parameters.

As well, the fix was supposed to correct issues with IE7. However, this is also not fixed in the patch. I have made them aware of this, and hope they have it resolved soon.
